We had a wonderful stay at Banbury Meadow, breath taking views of the Glastonbury Tor across the levels. We had bicycles with us and it was around 25 minute cycle ride from the meadow in Butliegh to Glastonbury town across the levels on nice quiet roads. We stayed in Selene who is just magical, beautifully furnished akin to what we enjoy, loads of space in that 6m circle, the four post bed was amazing, we made good use of the wood burner as it was the first day this summer that the temperature dipped and there was patch of rain with the blood full moon which gave us the perfect excuse to light it. We enjoyed the fire pit and the bbq most evenings and the kitchen lounge area is perfect for rustling up a gourmet breakfast before adventures in Avalon and as we found out with Tom and Lou on our last night, a great place to entertain! The separate facilities for washing and ablutions are extremely clean and completely adequate. Excellent of grid experience makes you feel its completely possible to exist in this way in all seasons. The Meadow is so tranquil and full of colorful wild life with rare butterflies and the buzz of busy bees, I even to spotted a stoat making its way into the meadow. We loved the peace and tranquility so much that we stayed an extra night and got to know Tom and Lou who we feel were kindred spirits and have become good friends! We hope to return soon and maybe stay in Boadicea as she is akin to our Iceni roots across here in the east. The most magical stay in what is known as the heart of the world! Thank you Tom and Lou and good luck with Banbury Meadow! All our love to you, Jay and Rose hope to see you again very soon
Beautiful setting, lovely warm hosts. All the luxury of a hotel in a sustainable and environmentally aware setting. Can't recommend this place highly enough, whether for a lazy weekend away or for exploring the surrounding area. Hot showers, kitchen facilities and beautiful furniture as well as an outdoor firepit for summer evenings, and a log burner for drying out after a day walking in the rain!
I don't do camping.Everyone who knows me knows I don't do camping. This is a wholly different proposition--and, frankly, I would live here if I could. The proprietors have worked hard to create a space that engenders in their guests the same love of this special spot of land that they felt the moment they saw it--and, as someone who's not 'outdoorsy' as a rule, I can tell you that they've succeeded. The accommodation is perfection: the yurts, luxurious; the facilities, finished to a high standard and immaculately clean; the location, exquisite.I can't recommend this place highly enough--whether you want a location from which to explore Glastonbury or a peaceful retreat in a field that you'll never, ever want to leave...
We had such an amazing stay here, Tom and Lou were hugely welcoming and the yurt is beautifully decorated inside and extremely comfortable. All the thoughtful touches around the campsite will put a smile on your face and the views are breathtaking! Highly recommended!
If you are looking for total tranquillity in a stunning setting , this place has it. The wonderful hosts, Tom and Louise , have managed to pull off something quite unique and special. This, off-grid site has every convenience and comfort of a top glamping experience, while leaving virtually no footprint upon the gorgeous landscape in which it sits. Expect stunning interiors inside your yurt, and far reaching views and a variety of wildlife outside. A little slice of Heaven...or perhaps Avalon!
