Awesome boozer, very quirky and individual. Maybe the best burger I've ever eaten. The pie was also amazing!!
Not spooky at all. Old, interesting, lovely atmosphere. Lots of old building noises at night. Great place to stay.
Terrible food, rude and unhelpful staff.Pork belly was dry and flavourless. Replacement burger was made from a cheap frozen patty and way too salty. Staff were rude in dealing with it and didn't even offer a refund of the difference, they need some proper front of house training. Ok for a beer, nice interesting building but don't eat here. They obviously rely on a lot of passing trade rather than returning custom.
Loved staying at the G&P. Beautiful of building, lovely rooms, great atmosphere and very friendly, helpful staff. Excellent location in the centre of town. Fascinating tales of ghosts for most of the rooms
Beautiful old coaching Inn built in the early 1500s. Panel walls. Flagstone floors and creeky uneven floorboards.Rooms fine on-suite with comfy beds. The only issue is all rooms are upstairs and accessible via an old spiral staircase.Staff were great food was great. The bar can be quite busy at times. There are supposedly many spirits wandering around.Great place would definitely stay again
